From Loom to Living Room

Every Tzaeit piece follows a deliberate path: sourcing yarns from partner clusters, preparing natural dye baths, weaving on traditional looms, and finishing with low-impact washes. This timeline explains what happens at each stage and what you can expect before your order reaches your door.

01 / Yarn Selection

We start by choosing organic cotton and hand-spun yarns from small farms in Maharashtra and Karnataka. Each batch is checked for tensile strength and fiber length, so the weave holds its shape through years of use.

02 / Natural Dye Baths

Indigo, madder root, and pomegranate rind are simmered in small copper vats. Fabrics are dipped in multiple rounds to build depth of color. Because dyes are plant-based, slight tonal shifts between batches are expected and part of the charm.

03 / Handloom Weaving

Artisans work on pit looms and frame looms, typically completing two to three meters of fabric per day. Patterns are set by hand, which means no two throws or cushion covers are identical. This stage takes the longest and cannot be rushed.

04 / Block Printing

For printed pieces, carved teak blocks are stamped onto the woven cloth. Each color layer needs a separate block and a drying period of 24 to 48 hours. Misaligned prints are rejected, not sold as seconds.

05 / Finishing and Inspection

Fabrics are washed in cold water with mild, eco-friendly soap, then sun-dried to set the dyes. Every item is inspected for loose threads, uneven weaves, and colorfastness before it is folded and packed in recycled paper.

06 / Dispatch and Delivery

Orders are dispatched within five working days from our Mumbai studio. Standard delivery takes three to seven days depending on your location. Each parcel includes a care card with washing instructions to keep the fabric soft and the colors true.
